Dharavi Music Project
“To Dharavi with love” is written and produced by upcoming Swiss artist, Chelan (@staircaserecordings) as an outcry from India’s Dharavi slum youth. The song’s verses are phrases, words of hope and calls for action written by children living in Dharavi throughout the COVID-19 crisis. The video is filmed and edited by another Swiss artist, a talented videographer, Jonas Schwegler (@jonas.schwegler). Through music we hope to garner more support and donations for Dharavi Diaries that aims to feed 50 000 workers in Dharavi. For every US$ 15 that you give, a family of 6 will be able to feed themselves for 2 weeks.
Celebrated violinist Ambi Subramaniam has come out in support of the Daily Wage Worker Platform and Dharavi Diary for their campaign - To Dharavi With Love. The aim is to feed 50,000 migrant workers in Dharavi, which is one of the hotspots of Covid 19 in Mumbai! And we urge all of you to open your hearts and donate generously, a small act of kindness will go a long way.
