HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INDIA

 

Habitat for Humanity India is supporting families and individuals living in vulnerable conditions with no safety net by providing them with essential goods and hygiene items. While housing is at the heart of everything we do, Habitat for Humanity India has been sensitising and raising awareness on the importance of hygiene and sanitation through our WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) program.

OXFAM INDIA

Since March’20, Oxfam India has been responding in 14 states with food, personal protective equipment (PPE), sanitation kits and awareness initiatives to support the efforts of the Indian Government and help the most marginalised and vulnerable communities.
The response focuses on Capacity Development of local stakeholders, Food Security and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), to ensure the Right to Survival for those worst affected – migrant workers, stranded daily wage earners, agricultural workers and other vulnerable groups, including women and girls.

RAPID RESPONSE

DASEEYA SEVABHARTHI KERELAM

One of the largest organizations doing relief work, has created a helpline number to 8010066066 to connect migrant workers to essential supplies along with providing counselling support. With one of the largest volunteer base, the organization is active across the state with district specific helpline numbers.

Please make a donation now. The  Dry ration Relief Kits Costs Rs 1000/- which includes Rice, Wheat, Dal, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Salt & Biscuit Packets. The Safety & Hygiene Kits Costs Rs 600/- which includes Handwash Liquid, Soap, Dettol, Phenol, Bleaching Powder, Masks, Kerchiefs and Awareness pamphlets.

CENTRE FOR EMPOWERMENT AND ENRICHMENT

Mary Anitha, the founder of the Centre For Empowerment and Enrichment (the centre works mainly to bring the needs of differently abled children into the forefront), is leading a community-feeding programme in Kochi. Mary cooks for 100 people daily and organises food packets through her network for another 200.

THERUVORUM

A voluntary organization founded by Murugan S is providing food and shelter to migrant workers in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Thrissur. They also have ambulances rescuing those needing medical aid.They also distribute 500 food packets in slums and streets everyday. They need support to be able to provide food to more people.
